MICHAEL'S MEANDERINGS

l am an observer first of all. How a person moves, reacts, speaks tells us about that character. I approach a scene in my books as I directed a scene on stage. I am a multi-plot writer. Studying both great American and English literature, gave me an appreciation for character and plot and sub plot. My first editor was a one plot pony. She wanted to ride from point A to the end as fast as possible without interference of other characters or situations. We parted ways when she cut out a third of my book and never listened to anything, I said. I prefer multi-depth stories, like "Lonesome Dove" and "Yellowstone". Bernard Cornwell is my favorite author. The best writer of historical fiction on the planet. I invite you to share your thoughts on my books. I will do my very best to answer as soon as I can. I do consider it an honor that you take the time to read my stuff. My best to you.
